Meet Our Founder

With a vision for promoting legal transparency, our founder brings a blend of legal savvy, social justice advocacy, and personal triumph to Billie’s mission.

TaLona is a graduate of Cardozo Law School, where she was awarded a full-tuition scholarship as an E. Nathaniel Gates Scholar. She has a decade of Big Law experience litigating complex financial disputes for major financial institutions, including American Express, JPMorgan Chase, and Citibank. She advises these institutions on regulatory risk, consumer disputes, and arbitration strategy. She manages high-volume portfolios of matters involving fraud, credit reporting, and other consumer financial issues.

TaLona enjoys a robust pro bono practice, representing indigent clients in land-lord tenant disputes, domestic abuse cases, discrimination claims, and other civil matters.

Our founder has been recognized. for excellence in litigation and pro bono advocacy, including Crain’s New York 40 Under 40 Award, Legal Aid Society’s, Pro Bono Publico Award, and Super Lawyers Rising Stars. She is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor recognizing exceptional contributions to the legal profession.

Through her work, TaLona saw a critical gap: while companies have full visibility into consumer background data, individuals often have none. Billie was born to change that — giving people direct access to their own legal background so they can understand, manage, and protect their public record.

As a former foster youth, TaLona has a passion for serving her community. TaLona has served as Co-Chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee, board member of the NYC Board of Directors of Peer Health Exchange, and mentor for Legal Outreach. She is a proud fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
